Course Learning Objectives

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Complete a comprehensive oral exam, understanding clues present in the oral exam that will aid in your treatment planning
  • Understand the procedure for hand scaling and curettage
  • Perform regional anesthesia in the oral cavity
  • Obtain full mouth radiographs of the animal and interpret common normal variations and periodontal pathology
  • Perform the steps in an extraction
  • Recognize the equipment needed for each step in the extractions
  • Create a flap for oro-nasal fistula repair
  • Surgically extract retained tooth roots
