In-Person Agenda:

This course will focus on basic abdominal surgical procedures performed in general practice. A strong emphasis will be placed on basic surgical principles related to gastrointestinal surgery and urinary surgery. Basic gastrointestinal surgery, urinary surgery, and splenectomy will be demonstrated. 

Learning Objectives:

  • A strong understanding of basic surgical principles related to gastrointestinal surgery, urinary surgery, and chest tube procedures and surgery will be expected at the conclusion of this course. 
  • Participants will have a strong understanding of use and mechanism of organ biopsies and procedures. 
  • Participants will have a strong understanding of procedures related to GI surgery, urinary surgery and thoracostomy tube use and placement.
