Life is too short and dental disease is too prevalent not to enjoy small animal dentistry. If you’re looking to develop comfort, efficiency and skills in performing common dental procedures, this is the course for you! This specially designed 2-day course includes 6 hours of engaging and practical lecture / discussion, with 10 hours of valuable hands-on training in our lab.

By the end of this course, you’ll be able to complete a comprehensive oral exam, understanding clues to help with treatment planning, and acquire full mouth radiographs of the dog. You’ll also be able to interpret common normal variations and periodontal pathology. Overall, you’ll have a better understanding and improved skills to perform dental extractions.

You will also be able to review critical periodontal equipment and how to perform basic periodontal treatments like ultrasonic and hand supragingival scaling, closed and open root planning, and appropriate use of perioceutics. You’ll learn about local and regional anesthesia, including infraorbital, inferior alveolar, and mental nerve blocks and their administration. Tips to improve extraction techniques will be discussed and practiced and common complications will be discussed.

You are welcome (though not required) to bring one of your vet technicians with you to this course. Register your veterinary technician here.
