Course Description
In this all-new course, you will learn the most common surgical procedures performed on the head and neck in general practice. You will learn the relevant anatomy, pathophysiology, and surgical treatments for common upper airway obstructions like brachycephalic airway syndrome and laryngeal paralysis and you will perform a temporary tracheostomy. You’ll learn about the different types of salivary mucoceles and the indications for and surgical technique of mandibular and sublingual salivary gland resection. You’ll gain new knowledge of ear anatomy that will prepare you to perform common surgical treatments for otits externa and media

Dr. Marvel received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and then went on to obtain her DVM from the University of Wisconsin in 2009. She completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Colorado State University. She stayed at Colorado State University and completed a residency in small animal surgery in 2013. Following her surgical residency she completed a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the Flint Animal Cancer Center at Colorado State University. She achieved board certification from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (DACVS-SA) in 2014. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the General Surgery department at Colorado State University.

Participant Cancellation Policy: Course attendees can cancel their registration for an in-person course according to the following
- Cancellation more than 60 days prior: Full refund minus 10% processing fee or 100% Future Transfer Credit (FTC).
- Cancellation 30-60 days prior: 50% refund or 75% FTC.
- Cancellations within 30 days: 50% FTC only. Cancellations due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances will be considered on an individual basis.
- Future Transfer Credits can be applied to any course within 365 days of the cancelled course.
Course Cancellation Policy: Course cancellations due to low registration numbers or other circumstances may be announced 35 days or more prior to the course. Full refund of the course registration or 100% Future Transfer Credit (FTC) will apply. We are unable to reimburse for travel expenses incurred.
