Advanced Surgical Procedures

June 3 - 4, 2023

Course Description

Pssst …. we all have those surgical procedures that we stumble through, but we don’t feel great about how we perform them. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be that way!  Come join us for a special 2-day, hands-on advanced surgery experience with cadavers.   In this course, you’ll enjoy in-depth, pre-recorded online lectures so that your hands-on training in our state-of-the-art CE lab is maximized when you’re here!

We’ve designed the course so that you’ll be able to focus upon expanding your surgical skills and refining your surgical technique.  You’ll watch a demonstration of each procedure before you perform it yourself!  Featured procedures include fore and hindlimb amputations, gastropexy, nephrectomy, diaphragmatic hernia repair, salivary gland removal, scrotal urethrostomy in the dog, perineal urethrostomy (PU) in the cat, and anal sacculectomy.  We will also discuss basic skin reconstruction techniques and you will have the opportunity to perform advancement flaps and caudal superficial epigastric flaps.  Esophagostomy tube and thoracostomy tube placement will also be reviewed.
