Looking to add to your laparoscopic surgery capabilities? We’ve got the perfect training course for you! Prophylactic laparoscopic-assisted gastropexy is indicated for deep-chested dogs at risk for gastric dilatation volvulus (GDV).
This specially-designed course is recommended for the primary care veterinarian with laparoscopic surgical experience. Before coming to our state-of-the-art minimally invasive surgery training center, you will have access to online learning materials to learn all about the lap-assisted gastropexy technique. Upon arrival to CSU’s brand new continuing education center in the Translational Medicine Institute, you’ll be greeted with a delicious and nutritious catered lunch. Next, you’ll enjoy a quick and engaging lecture / discussion session to prepare yourself for your hands-on cadaveric training session. You’ll observe your friendly and supportive instructors performing the procedure and then you’ll perform laparoscopic-assisted gastropexies in cadavers.
You’ll feel your skills and confidence building, but wouldn’t it be nice if you could do a clinical case or 2 with your mentor by your side? That is EXACTLY what is about to happen! We’ve partnered with area animal shelters to provide them with no-cost laparoscopic-assisted gastropexies for their future and recent at-risk adoptees. Before you know it, you’ll be performing these procedures with your instructor scrubbed in and helping you out every step of the way! While others are performing their procedures you can view every detail from the comfort of your seat thanks to our advanced AV technologies throughout the facility.
You’ll return to your practice prepared and motivated to provide this cutting-edge technique to your community of pet lovers!
