Are you looking for that edge that distinguishes your practice from the others? Laparoscopic ovariectomy has become the preferred method for sterilization of female dogs and cats. This is the procedure to secure trust with your clients starting early in their pet’s life.
We’ve designed a hands-on laparoscopic ovariectomy training course like no other course available anywhere. Our course will provide you with the new skills you need to provide local animal shelters with no-cost laparoscopic ovariectomies for their future adoptees.
On Day 1, spend time developing your technique on a trainer/simulator to prepare you to perform your first Laparoscopy OV technique on a canine cadaver.
Day 2 provides each participant with the opportunity to operate on two dogs to provide our local animal rescues and shelters with no-cost laparoscopic ovariectomies. You’ll scrub in with our expert instructors during surgery. When you are not performing surgery, you can observe fellow participants perform their procedures and view every detail from the comfort of your seat thanks to our advanced AV technologies in our tiered classroom and surgery suites.
Return to your practice confident to provide clients with this cutting-edge technique for sterilization of female cats and dogs.
Pre-requisite training: Introduction to Small Animal Laparoscopy (or similar training course).

Dr. Marvel received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and then went on to obtain her DVM from the University of Wisconsin in 2009. She completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Colorado State University. She stayed at Colorado State University and completed a residency in small animal surgery in 2013. Following her surgical residency she completed a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the Flint Animal Cancer Center at Colorado State University. She achieved board certification from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (DACVS-SA) in 2014. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the General Surgery department at Colorado State University.
Policies
Participant Cancellation Policy: Course attendees can cancel their registration for an in-person course according to the following schedule:
- More than 60 days prior: Full refund or 100% Future Transfer Credit (FTC).
- 30-60 days prior: 50% refund or 100% FTC.
- Fewer than 30 days prior: 75% FTC only. No cash refunds are permitted within 30 days of the event.
To ensure fairness and consistency for all attendees, this policy applies universally to all cancellations, including those caused by illness or unforeseen circumstances. - Future Transfer Credits can be applied to any course within 365 days of the cancelled course.
Course Cancellation Policy: Course cancellations due to low registration numbers or other unforeseen program circumstances will be announced 35 days or more prior to the course start date. In this event, a full refund of the course registration or a 100% Future Transfer Credit (FTC) will be provided. CSUVetCE is not responsible for, and will not reimburse, any travel, lodging, or incidental expenses incurred by the participant.
