Our two-day introductory GI endoscopy course is specifically designed for veterinarians and technicians with little to no endoscopic experience.

Whether it is foreign body removal, PEG tube placement, or GI biopsy, the new GI endoscopy skills you’ll build in this course will make you a more valuable member of your clinic team and the hero of many pet-owning clients.

Enjoy seven hours of practical and engaging lecture covering indications, basic technique, and disorders diagnosed via endoscopy, followed by over nine hours of valuable hands-on training to build your confidence and skills.

You’ll leave our course with comprehensive knowledge and skills that will help you be a more valuable member of your clinic’s endoscopy team.

Instructors

Dr. David Twedt

DVM, DACVIM

Dr. David C. Twedt graduated from Iowa State University and entered an internship and medicine residency in gastroenterology at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Twedt then joined the staff of the Animal Medical Center and was also a research associate at the Liver Research Center of Albert Einstein Medical School. Dr. Twedt then joined the faculty in the Department of Clinical Sciences at Colorado State University in small animal internal medicine. He is currently Professor Emeritus in the Department and a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Dr. Twedt is past President of the ACVIM and Comparative Gastroenterology Society and co-founder of the Veterinary Endoscopy Society. Publication and research interests include liver disease, gastrointestinal disease and endoscopy. He has also been the recipient of a number of teaching. research and national awards including the Norden-Pfizer Distinguished Teacher Award, WSAVA International Scientific Achievement Award, Pioneer in Endoscopy Award and ACVIM Robert W. Kirk Award for Professional Excellence. He is also the co-editor of 4 textbooks including Current Veterinary Therapy 14 and 15 editions.

Dr. Craig Webb

DVM, DACVIM

After completing his PhD in Neuroscience, Dr. Webb earned his DVM from the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Webb did his internship at Alameda East in Denver where he experienced his 15 minutes of fame on Animal Planets “Emergency Vets” TV show. Dr. Webb was a resident at CSU with Dr. David Twedt as his mentor, and has remained on faculty at the VTH ever since.

Dr. Michael Matz

Dr. Mike Matz is a graduate of Colorado State University. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Matz is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. He has served on the faculty at Tufts University and Massey University (New Zealand) where he received awards for teaching. Since 2004 Dr. Matz has been in private referral practice in Tucson, Arizona. His primary clinical and publication interests are in gastroenterology and gastrointestinal endoscopy. He has lectured at local, state, national, and international meetings on these topics.

Dr. Jeanne Ficociello

Dr. Jeanne Ficociello was born in raised north of Boston in Wilmington, MA. She obtained her bachelor's degree in biology at Harvard University and attended veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated in 2006 and moved to Los Angeles, where she completed a one-year rotating internship at the VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital and then returned to Boston as a general practioner for one year. In 2008, she moved to Fort Collins, Colorado and completed a three-year residency in small animal Internal Medicine at Colorado State University. She also earned her Masters during that time period and studied infectious diseases, including Bartonella, the cause of cat scratch fever?. Dr. Ficociello is happy to be back in the Boston area and has many professional interests, including renal disease, gastrointestinal disease, liver disease and endocrinology. She also loves endoscopic procedures and laparoscopy. She lives on the south shore with her Labrador retriever, Fenny and her Chihuahua, Grandpa.

Policies

Participant Cancellation Policy: Course attendees can cancel their registration for an in-person course according to the following

Cancellation more than 60 days prior: Full refund or 100% Future Transfer Credit (FTC).
Cancellation 30-60 days prior: 50% refund or 75% FTC.
Cancellations within 30 days: 50% FTC only. Cancellations due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances will be considered on an individual basis.
Future Transfer Credits can be applied to any course within 365 days of the cancelled course.

Course Cancellation Policy: Course cancellations due to low registration numbers or other circumstances may be announced 35 days or more prior to the course. Full refund of the course registration or 100% Future Transfer Credit (FTC) will apply. We are unable to reimburse for travel expenses incurred.
